One station just seriously teased, as if it were something major, "Has Lebron chosen a candidate to endorse? We have his pick... coming up!"

That's the news.

There is no other story that needs to be told... no important issues that could be reported on in greater depth... nothing that matters more than knowing who a kid that bounces a ball for a living is going to vote for.

Yeah.

19 Action News makes my stomach turn. Channel 3's OK, and i like Fox 8 because of Dick Goddard, and also because it's what my parents tended to watch when i was growing up, although they've been starting to head down 19's path in recent years. their "shout out" segments on the six o'clock news are pointless and annoying.

19 is fucking garbage though. there should NEVER be a noticeable zoom-in during a news broadcast. and that doesn't even scratch the surface of that channel's problems. of course, dumb fucks eat it up

When I first moved to Eugene, I turned on the local news one night to see what was up. The lead story was about green firewood being sold for seasoned. I never watched it again.

I can remember when the news, on all of these channels, was only a hlf an hour long and usually managed to provide more actual news than you now get in w whole hour.

I despise their so-called investigations into local trifles, where they run up to someone, shove a microphone into their mouth. No one would want to talk on camera if you ran up to them and surprised them with a string of loaded questions. Those guys just make people look like assholes, whether they're guilty of whatever the fuck or not. Fucking Carl Monday motherfucker.
