Yesterday I bought myself a 15 speed mountain bike (except it doesn't feel like a mountain bike with its lame-ass handlebars, which i will soon fix), and I used it yesterday to give myself a little tour of all the different parts of the island that I haven't seen yet.
Today, I got my new laptop, rode my bike to the library, and I just downloaded itunes, firefox, et cetera et cetera, painstakingly transfered all of my music from my ipod to my itunes, and it's basically all set up now.
Tonight, I'm trying to decide between drinking and going to the Datarock show. It might be fun, but I'm not a real fan (only listened to the album in passing).
And tomorrow night, I'm going to go see Kill Me Tomorrow play at the Casbah. I'm super psyched, because the last time I saw them was probably four years ago.

Also, the studio I found before was $735, but it was low-income housing, and there were a ton of creepos living there. Lots of bums hanging around outside. This new one I just found is in a nicer neighborhood, and just down the street from the sheriff's station.
This one is just a few blocks off broadway and the Gaslamp, and maybe five blocks from the Casbah.
yeah, that's not very much. i don't know SD but i have to imagine it's on the pricier side of things, even without having to worry about gas money.

No, that 1350 a month is in addition to my regular pay, see? Having this studio is actually putting an extra 380 a month in my bank account... except for having to buy furniture, at first. But this is more money in my pockets, in the end.
I saw them probably five years ago when I saw The Locust, and they've been one of my favorite bands since. I don't understand why they're not more widely liked.
seriously, the weather here is awesome, even today when it's cloudy outside, it's still really nice. this beats the fuck out of japan. and everyone speaks english. and if they don't, i know enough spanish to get by.
I get out in October next year, and we're going to deploy sometime around August, I believe, so I'll be here for about ten months.
convention center downtown and its huge, biggest convention of its kind. it sells out the whole convention center.
